I live in Dubai where it is high 30s (or more) with gross levels of humidity for most of the year, but I’m in love and maybe a little obsessed, with boots.
Although my collection is quite extensive, it’s never complete. There are always new designs that I have to have – although generally I will settle on a favourite each winter.
Last winter it was my All Saints over the knee riding boots, but this year the competition is strong.
I discovered John Fluevog shoes in Vancouver this summer and fell in love. I was completely torn between zebra skin ankle boots, patterned grey leather with a filigree pattern cut out and fantastic two tone boots with buttons which look like they stepped straight out of the turn of the century.
It was a dreadful dilemma with only one possible outcome – I bought all three. After all John Fluevog is not in Dubai, and who knows if I will get to a store that stock him any time soon. So it would have been a crime not to buy them.
Now I just need to design the perfect dress to go with them….
